Minneapolis, July 13, 2021 – Player’s Health is pleased to announce the establishment of the first National Health Plan created specifically for sports organizations. This healthcare plan provides affordable medical, dental, vision, and life plans to all W2 and/or 1099 employees and their families of any sports organization in the United States.

This is a major milestone, as this national plan provides health care benefits at attractive rates to the employees and independent contractors of these organizations.”

The plan consolidates memberships that would typically participate in individual group plans into one large fully-insured group plan, underwritten by a national healthcare carrier, which are not subject to the “community rating” risk pool.  The benefit of a large group plan provides participants with attractive rates resulting in lower health plan costs.

The National Health Plan can significantly reduce workload and management duties for individual sports club employers. The process for participation starts with the filling out of a census survey by the administrators of the sports organization and clubs. Final rates will be dependent on the number of sports organizations and clubs that submit a census survey for the plan. Player’s Health will be collecting surveys in three separate waves: July 13-30, August 1-20, and August 23 – September 10. Rates will be provided on October 11, followed by the beginning of the enrollment process on October 18, which will last until November 15. Coverage begins on January 1, 2022.
